VP/SR COUNSEL - LIFE INSURANCE & ANNUITY PRODUCTS# WM75

Major global financial services company seeks an experienced life insurance products attorney for a Senior Counsel position to provide counsel and assistance in the development, marketing and regulation of fixed and variable life insurance and annuity products. Some of the primary responsibilities of this position will include:

• Providing counsel in the product development area of the company’s Life Insurance and Annuity business units on marketing materials, sales illustrations, compliance and pricing issues, policy form filing, etc.
• Assisting business personnel in the maintenance and development of new and existing life insurance and annuity products
• Performing legal research, analysis, and drafting legal memoranda on various state and federal insurance regulatory matters
• Providing counsel and expertise across various departments, and working closely with compliance and governmental affairs in analyzing legislative and regulatory initiatives affecting the business

• At least 15+ years related experience in fixed and variable life insurance products at a top law firm, global financial services company or major insurance company
• Detailed knowledge and understanding of the insurance industry, life insurance and annuity products, and state and federal regulations affecting fixed and variable insurance and annuity products
• Prior in-house and supervisory experience preferred
• Must be a team player with strong technical and leadership skills
• State bar admission req'd
