SECURITIES COUNSEL - Variable Life & Annuity Products# WM76

Major global financial services company seeks a Securities Counsel with experience in variable annuity and life insurance products to provide counsel and assistance in the design, sale and administration of the company’s variable life and annuity products.

This position would be responsible for providing securities law counsel for variable life insurance and annuity products in connection with the product design and implementation process, as well as product administration issues. This includes drafting, updating and filing of product prospectuses and supplements in connection with new product launches and modifications to in-force books of business, review of marketing materials and responding to the SEC on filings and examinations related to these products.  The position would also be responsible for monitoring and analyzing securities developments that can impact variable insurance products, communicating regulatory developments to affected areas and assuring the implementation of actions needed to ensure regulatory compliance.

·         At least 5 or more years experience in the areas of variable annuity and life products, with in-depth knowledge of the Investment Company Act of 1940 and any other applicable federal securities laws as they relate to the design, sale and administration of variable insurance products.

·         Top law firm background or prior in-house experience at a large financial or insurance company preferred.

·         Must have well developed analytical, counseling and communication skills and the capacity to work independently.

·         Experience with product development and implementation preferred.

·         Knowledge of state insurance laws is a plus.
